D-backs Game

The baseball coach at Dave's school scored great tickets for the staff to see the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night. Not a huge fan of baseball, but it was a great and fun experience! We took Peyton with us. He had a BLAST! He had a hard time sitting still, too much excitement, or that he was sneaking drinks of his dad's Mt. Dew!!!

A week of Randomness

Dave and I had our monthly date night. We went shopping:) It was a fun time! I forgot how nice it is to go shopping without kids!!!!

Dinner with the cousins

Dave's older twin!

Kallie is in love with Carlee! It's like her own personal baby. She always makes sure Carlee has what she needs:)

We went to dinner with the gang to celebrate Uncle Paul's birthday!

My girl loves her some cupcakes! We celebrated Minnie Sue's birthday at school!

This is what I did one Saturday for 3 hours! I went through old baby clothes and came up with 9 bags to donate!! WOW, I still have 8 bins of baby clothes!!

Yes, it's true! My baby lost his first tooth:( He didn't even cry!

Dave's Classroom was very "STERILE" and "PLAIN"
I went in one Friday afternoon and decorated it for him. We still have some things to get that he wants: Colts and IU stuff.

The kids all have laptops. No textbooks! It's cool, but a lot of work for Mr. C

These are all before pictures. I forgot to take after ones! I know! I was so mad! But at that point I had been there for 2 hours and the children were DONE! Melt downs were happening every 2 seconds and Dave was in there trying to finish up some work! I promise after pictures will come soon!

No news is good news, right?

I have not heard a bad report or story as of yet, but the night is still young! Peyton said he had a great day at school. He STILL is sitting in his own special seat. He reassures me that it's okay because he can still reach his friend Cameron. Is it for safety reasons that he is in his own seat? She did mention that he was very bouncy.....this must be the reason! And every class clown needs his own special seat:)

In other news, I discovered a pimple on Peyton's chin! Good gracious! It's enough that he is talking about and flashing girls, must he already be getting ZITS?!?!?!?!?! I actually discovered it yesterday, but had hoped it was just a bump. When he got home today, it looked bigger! So, I asked him if I could pick it to see for sure. He of course wiggled around (just like his dad), but I popped it! Yes, you read that right. I popped my sweet little innocent Kindergarten son's first ZIT! Boy, how this is turning out to be a memorable year with only one week into the school year! Please stay tuned....this is bound to be one heck of a year:)

I did a close up so you could see it! Okay, so you can't really see it; but TRUST ME! It was there!!!!!

I must try my hardest to keep Carlee little forever! I am sure her Granny would appreciate that! She and I have discovered the love of Play doh! Actually, I have discovered that cleaning it up is a huge annoyance! Miss Carlee Jane loves to mix the colors! Of course she does!!
She is showing you her "PWAY DO"

And that's all!

Oh yes, there is more to the story!

This morning when I dropped off my sweet little Kindergartener, I was greeted by his substitute teacher! She proceeds to tell me how bouncy Peyton was. Now, I have heard people call Carlee bouncy, but not Peyton. So, I agree that he is very active(I prefer this terminology) Then she asks Peyton (in a sweet little voice) if he was going to remember not to lift his shirt and yell, "Hey girls"!!!!! OMG! My son is a flasher!!! Of course if you remember from the previous post, this is not the story from my sweet little Kindergartener!! I mention my version of the story to Mrs. Blankenship(his substitute) and she fills me in on the real story. She said that Peyton lifted his shirt and yelled, Hey girls! Then the girls looked and laughed! She then proceeds to tell me that he likes to be the "Class Clown". Of course he is! Do you not know me and Dave?!?!?!?! We are possibly the funniest people on the planet.....no really, we are! We both ended up with the funny gene in the family! So naturally Peyton and Carlee would inherit this glorious quality. I am not sure Mrs. Blankenship knew that; but she does now! Poor thing! She doesn't know talent when she sees it:) I suppose we will have to teach Peyton how to be a little more reserved with his funny gene! But all in all, another great story for the books! Who knew that Kindergarten would be this exciting!!!

Part 3 of Peyton's Kindergarten

So today I pick up Peyton. He comes running to the car! He jumps in and shouts, "Mommy I did it!! I came when they called my name and then I saw our car!!" He was so proud, and so was I that he was not lost:)

I proceed to ask about his day. He now has multiple friends. This is great since the first day of school he tells me that he isn't going to make new friends and he misses his Preschool friends! I am glad that Cameron, Nathan, Daniel, and Javani(sp?) are now his friends, oh and of course Callahan!! Well, then he tells me that he got embarrassed today. I asked him why and this is how he explained it: "Well, I bent over and my shirt came up, and those girls started laughing at me" I said, "Why were they laughing at you?" He says, "I dunno" I said, "Well Peyton, why didn't you make a silly face at them?" He says, "Ugh, NO! That means I like them! And I don't like girls!" I said, "Well, you can be friends with them" He says, "I can't have 'girl' friends at Kindergarten, only at Preschool!!!" I told him he was being silly. While we were talking he was playing with a toy dinosaur...He then says, "I will just take my dragon and scare them......RRRRRRRRRR"!!!!

The End

Part 2 of Peyton's first days of Kindergarten!

Okay, so day two and three were much better! Thank you to all who were so concerned! I was able to pick him up at the door the following day without any problems. They even smiled real big when I told them who I was picking up. The lady said, "Oh yes, we know where Peyton is". I said (under my breath), you're darn right! Today it was hard dropping him off. I am sick and he was sad for me to go! It was torture watching him just stand and watch me and Carlee walk away! Maybe I need to stay in the car and just pull up and let him out! Nah, he's my baby! I will walk him in until he is too embarrassed (maybe high school:)

So, some of the stories I have been told by Peyton about his first week go like this:
Mommy: "Peyton, how was school today?" Peyton: "Fine" Okay, stop right there! I expected for him not to shut up about how fun it was, how he made new friends, etc..... and all I got was fine!
Well, it got better! As the night went on, he started to freely offer details about his day. He told me that boys and girls kiss. Hmm, okay I said! Then I asked him how he knew that, and I quote, "I'm a professional, Mom"!!!!!!!!!! I quickly asked if he was a professional at kissing, he gave me this look that I was crazy and responded, "No, I just know things!"
WOW~ this is what public school education is like!
The next day I get this: "Mom, what's that noise you make when you see hot chicks?" I said, WHAT!?!?!?! He answers himself; "I know, and then whistles" First of all, who is my child hangin out with in Kindergarten, a mini Hugh Hefner! And for days now he has been telling me that I am HOT! Okay, so maybe I am a little flattered, but creeped out at the same time!

I have this week off, then Carlee and I start school on the 10th. I am glad that she and I have some time together! Today we decided to drive through Dunkin Donuts and grab some breakfast, shh....don't tell Peyton! We have been playing babies, having tea parties, and playing Play doh! She is a lot of fun and rather quiet when Peyton is not around! Who knows what the rest of the week holds for me and Miss Carlee Jane Carpenter!! Stay tuned!!!

In other news, now that Dave has his dream job.....I am seeing a whole new side to him. Before, he never let things get to him...just let things roll off his back! Always hated that he could be like that! Anyway, he is stressed in a way that I have never seen before! He says it's a good stress, but whatever! I am so thankful for this job! I am glad he now get's to do something he loves, teaching and coaching! Open gym starts tomoroow....looks like I might not see him so much for awhile!
