Oops!

Well, I have been informed by my wonderful "English" teacher sister that I had several mistakes in my last blog! So sorry! I would go back and fix them, but I'm not. I think that will bug my sister but that makes me happy knowing that I still bug her:)

She's a good sissy! Love you La La!!

Another update

Dave went to the doctor on Wednesday. Everything is looking good. He was told that this will be a long recovery due to the severity and deepness of the burns. He has to really start scrubbing away the dead skin so that new skin will grow. This is a very painful thing! They have changed his medication but it doesn't seem to work as well as the other. We have to go back every week for them to scrub at the burns. He has been released to light duty at work, but we are not sure if that will be possibly. He can not drive, especially while taking morphine.
My mom and sister are still here. They have been a HUGE help! My poor sister has been sick and to the doctor with a sore throat. She is on antibiotics, so hopefully she will feel better soon. My other sister who lives in Tennessee was injured at work this morning. Her arm got caught in a machine. So amazing that she didn't crush her arm! God is so amazing to my family! She had to have 7 stitches. She will be going in for surgery on her feet in a few weeks. She has to have her ligaments torn and bones reset! OUCH! Poor sissy! Our family cold still use lots of prayer!

I will attach a few pictures. My camera has been broken since Easter:( My really generous friend Olivia gave me her old one to use until I got a new one. Well, Dave informed me last night that a surprise will be coming in the mail for me in a few days:) He ordered me a new camera! I am so excited to get a good camera!

We met some family up in Scottsdale to go swimming. This is the day Carlee decided to like the pool!

Thank you Aunt Leigh for the adorable outfit! I looked like a doll!!

Granny is enjoying playing dress up with Carlee! You wouldn't believe all dresses and bows!!

Update on Dave

Today was by far the hardest day. Dave woke up very out of it. I guess it all just hit him at once today. He's been so up and down. The pain medicine is causing some itching, which makes him very uncomfortable. It's hard to sit and watch him do nothing. Dave is the type of person that when he sees something that needs to be done, he does it. He isn't able to bath or eat or do anything that he uses his hands for. Which when you think about it, we use our hands for pretty much everything. I really took advantage as to how much Dave really does around the house. I am so thankful that my mom and sister are here visiting. They have been helping with the kids, while I take care of Dave. Ugh, today was a tough day for me as well. It may sound silly.... but the yard needed to be mowed today and I was the one for the job! I hate yard work, even more after today. But as I dealt with a very stubborn lawn mower, I found myself sitting on the sidewalk with tears streaming down my face. It was the first time that I really broke down. I mean, I almost lost my partner! I can't get that image out of my head! I am so grateful that I am able to wake up every morning and see his face. Dave and I have talked quite a bit about how much this has changed our outlook on life. We will never be the same!
I had taken pictures of his hands, I know, you are probably thinking Why? Well for one we had to document them for the reports for the company he works for. And two, Dave wanted to see the progression. I had them ready to load, but camera was acting weird. So, I will save them for next time. They are not pretty to look at, but they are getting better than what they were. He has an appointment on Wednesday. I pray that the cleaning we have been doing is healing them nicely, and that permanent damage or scarring will be minimal. We appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers. Thanks to Granny and Aunt Bibby for pitching in and helping! Thanks to Grammy for watching the kids and running some errands. Thanks to Papaw Chet for fixing the ever so frustrating lawn mower! Thanks to Paul and Jeremy for stopping by and bringing us lunch. Thanks to my friend Trudy for cooking an amazing meal! We appreciate all the phone calls and emails! We are truly blessed!

PRAISE GOD! Update on Dave

Some of you may not have heard, but here's the story. I may not give all the details, but I truly do not want to relive those emotions. Dave really needs your prayers. He was seriously injured at work today. He was electrocuted with an extremely high voltage and has serious burns on both hands. He was up on a lift and pinned down by live wires. Someone heard him screaming and scaled up the lift and pulled the wires off him. This certain someone, Steve, (OUR HERO) wasn't supposed to be there. He is usually at lunch. Today he decided to take a late lunch. PRAISE GOD he did! If he had not have been there, well....Dave would not still be with us. I can barely type those words. I still am nauseous when I think about the "what ifs".
He was taken by ambulance and stayed in burn unit for a while. We did get to come home tonight because Dave requested it. They have given him pain meds so hopefully that will help. He is in lots of pain both physically and emotionally. GOD is Great! He's alive That is all Dave keeps saying. Please pray for his pain tolerance. We have to change bandages twice a day and scrub his burns. He has one finger which will need therapy. It's the finger that the voltage exited him body. He came out of the knuckle. He could have ligament damage. Just pray! And thank God for sparing Dave's life. There is a reason for this. It was nice to hear Dave being a testimony to all the Doctors and Nurses. He kept repeating that only the grace of God! Maybe Dave's co-worker whom he's been trying to be a witness to will accept Christ. Who knows the reason for what happened today. But we are thankful! We appreciate your prayers!

Happy Father's Day

I am sure everyone says this, but I do believe I have the best husband/father! God truly gave me the perfect mate! As we celebrate Father's day today and then our 7th anniversary tomorrow, I get so emotional thinking about what an amazing man I married. I mean come on, he puts up with ME!!! He is so good with our children. He always makes sure we have everything we need. As I sit and type this, I am listening to Dave and Peyton play Lego Star Wars. It makes my heart happy to hear their interaction. The best is when Dave comes home from work and the kids act like they haven't seen him in days. They both scream, "Daddy". They joy on all of their faces is priceless. I honestly don't think Dave has ever walked in the door with a grouchy attitude. His face lights up when he sees his family. God has truly molded Dave into the wonderful father he is. Dave never had his father in the house to show him how to love and be there for his children. Dave truly strives to be the father he never really had. He works harder than any husband/father I know. He works over 40 hours and is getting his Master's degree, all while being a husband and father. He is the most committed and trustworthy man that I have ever met. I realize more and more just how much alike Dave is to my dad. My mom and I often laugh at just how much alike they are. If my dad were here today, I am sure they would both be sitting on the couch in their own little world, while my mom and I are in the background trying to get them to listen to us:) I would love to have my dad back just so he could actually meet Dave and my children and see just how much alike they are. I look forward to the day when I can see my dad again and thank him for teaching me about love, commitment and trustworthiness. I am thankful that I have security in knowing that I will one day see him again!

This is so Dave and Peyton. They are two of a kind!

This is Dave and his little clone. Carlee for sure has her Daddy's heart wrapped around every finger and toe. No one messes with Team Carlee!!!

It's a Hot Hot Day

Carlee is really afraid of a swimming pool. We decided to put water in our Turtle Sandbox to see if she could handle a little bit of water. She wasn't happy! Peyton really enjoyed it though! Carlee loves the bath, so what is her deal with a pool??? We can't figure it out!

PEYTON to the RESCUE

I HEART KRISPY KREME

Well, I finally broke down and bought a dozen! I was so excited to hear that Krispy Kreme had opened back up, but not excited to pay 7.50!! I drove by on Friday and saw the HOT sign on:) We all know that you can't resist a HOT CREAMY KRISPY KREME!!! I doubt I will be going back anytime soon due to the high cost:( But if I drive by again and that HOT sign is on..well....we will just see what happens:)

Sprinkler Fun!

When you don't have a pool in Arizona, you do what you have to do to stay cool! This was a cool little "FREE" sprinkler I got last year at a yard sale. I was over looking at kids clothes and I hear Peyton yell, "Mommy this is the coolest sprinkler ever, can we get it?" I saw that it was $5 and was thinking sure I'll buy it if it was a $1. When I went to pay for my 2 items, the man asked Peyton if he wanted that sprinkler. Great! Now I look like a horrible mother if I don't get it. He said he would give it to him for free since Peyton was so excited about it! Wow! Thank you yard sale man!!

Thanks Mom and Libby for the new swim suit. You can't really tell in this picture anything about the suit. Let's face it....no matter how cute the suit, I look like crap in one! I get sick when thinking of going out in public showing my thighs and back fat! You would think that would motivate me to drop the pounds! Well, it's called I love to eat and hate to work out:)

Dave is trying to convince her that it's not that scary! For some reason, Carlee is not into getting wet unless it's in the bath tub.

She was not happy!

Happy Summer!
