Trick or Treat

This year it finally felt like Fall on Halloween. We were able to trick or treat with nice cool weather! It was nice for once to not sweat while walking around quickly to hit as many houses as we could before melting!!

We took with us a ninja, a fairy, and a basketball player! The kids were so excited for Halloween! I on the other hand, couldn't wait for it to be over! Not sure if it's because I am a teacher and I see the craziness come out in children!?!? The kids had a Halloween parade and class parties at school. It was great to be able to watch them enjoy their friends and their school!

I am thankful that it is over and that we can start to look forward to my favorite holiday....Thanksgiving! I always hate to see it overlooked with the mad rush to put out the Christmas stuff:( I love fall so much, I have already started baking yummy desserts and planning our big meal!

Also, today I realized that we have a little over a month before our Christmas Vacation....more on that in the weeks to come! Don't want to spoil the surprise!

Here are some snapshots of the day of the sugar high....

Really???

It's been over a week? Really? That's Carlee's new word lately!! Today her daddy told her to do something, which she seemed annoyed at, as he walked away from her, she says in all her sass...REALLY!!!

Well, I tried to stay on top of daily blogging! It's near impossible to work full time and raised a clan! Maybe I will set my goal to weekly, or bi-weekly!

So, Halloween is approaching! Costumes stress me out beyond belief! They are over priced and too many choices! I don't remember Halloween being so stressful as a kid, maybe that's because we were not allowed to go trick or treating. We would dress up and get candy from our parents and people at church. My kids always want the biggest and most expensive costumes there are. I try ever year to persuade them to recycle old costumes, or to let me make them a costume! I love homemade costumes....why do kids hate them so much?

We'll this year we have a Ninja, a Fairy, and a Kentucky Wildcat Basketball player:) They were pleased and it didn't break my wallet too bad!

Fall is my most FAVORITE season of all! I love the smells, the cool breeze, the colors, and the yummy food:) Unfortunately living in the desert has put a damper on my fall spirit! I miss home this time of year!

Basketball season is approaching, that means daddy will be gone most nights:( I hate it, but I love it at the same time!

Carlee has learned how to ride her bike without training wheels:) She took off and got it the very first time! So proud of her!
She was so proud:)

Daddy was having a hard time keeping up

This was our date night with Carlee...she wanted to go shopping! I was so proud:)

Lincoln wasn't happy that he couldn't go....

Little Miss Smartie Pants received the Elementary Scholar award (the highest you can get)

Proud of you Carlee Jane!

Peyton received Principal's Honor Roll, Perfect attendance, and a Reading award!

 Proud of you Peyt!
Playing baseball with daddy's old glove:)

And then there's Lincoln.....LOVE THAT MESSY FACE!!!

A post a day...

That is my goal, a post a day! Even when I don't have anything to say?? You bet! Those that know me know I always have something to say!

Saturday's are good for the soul! I like a good Saturday! I woke up today after 8:00, which rarely happens. I leisurely had a bowl of cereal. Then the mood hit....I grabbed my Pandora...plugged in the old ear phones....and a cleaning I did! I quickly became a hot sweaty mess, but that feeling when you are done is pure satisfaction! Now, I sit back and wait for the littles to destroy it! They are good at that!

I have a hair appointment today, much needed I must say! I go back and forth on whether to do something drastic with my hair. I have been trying to grow it out FOREVER! It seems my hair is impaired or something! It's a wonder I even have hair because I shed like nobodies(is it 'ys or drop the y?) business!

Nothing else exciting will happen I am sure. We can't ever seem to take all 3 kids anywhere without WW1000 breaking out. And I am sure that my clueless husband has anything planned! So, I will work on lesson plans or something productive!

I will leave you today with one of my favorite pictures.....

Happy Saturday yall!!!

More to life

There is more to life, right?

I used to love what I do, teaching WAS fun and fulfilling! Now, it's changed for me. I work MANY hours at my job that is not always fulfilling. I am in constant stress, which has effected my family.

I don't know what the answer is about my less than exciting job, but I am searching.....

I like nice things! I love to decorate! I enjoy organizing! I like order and clean counters! I love my label maker! I like calm! I enjoy taking pictures! I love to shop! I enjoy going out! I love Pinterest! I like Instagram! I enjoy facebook! I like to eat good foods! I love to read! I enjoy going to the movies!

I dislike clutter! I don't like noise! I dislike being bored! I HATE weight gain! I dislike being hot! I HATE video games! I dislike my salary! I hate selfish people! I dislike asking for help! I don't like being alone (sometimes)! I hate sickness!

I have discovered that I am living a robotic life! I do the same things everyday, with very little variation. I get bored easily! So when Pinterest came along, I jumped right in! I have done projects here and there and tried many recipes that I have pinned! I have said that Pinterest is like crack! Not that I know personally what crack is like, but from what I have seen.....IT'S ADDICTIVE! I can't sleep, I pin! I'm bored, I pin! I am waiting for dinner to cook, I pin!!! I think I could pin in my sleep! Pinterest has kick started my engine!

I am trying really hard to quit sulking around, stop complaining about my mundane life, and get busy! I have always been really good at starting new things, but never following through! I hope that this will change. I am taking it day to day and hope that I can continue focusing on my family and what I love rather than the things that I hate! I want to no longer be consumed with things that do not matter or people who may disappoint me.

Here's to some positive thoughts.....
Tis the season for spiders and witches.....come on cool weather! Fall is my favorite time of year! I hate that in Arizona we still have over 100 degree days:( I miss the changing of colors and the cool breeze! I miss the pumpkin patches and apple orchards! I miss hot apple cider and fresh baked goodies!

We've started working on fall decorating....still more to do, but here's a peek of what we have done so far! I credit my wonderfully talented mother for the creative juices that flow through our home!!

Has it almost been a year?

Wow, I am embarrased!! I should win some kind of award for being the biggest Blog slacker of all time!!

Not that my 5 followers were losing sleep countless nights waiting for my earth shattering post:) 5 followers, that's sad right? I mean if you are going through hours of updating pictures and journaling your thoughts, shouldn't you have more than 5 followers?? Don't get your knickers in a knot my dedicated 5.....I appreciate you bookmarking my blog and checking it morning, noon, and night for my latest ramblings!! You keep checking back, because I am sure I will fall off the wagon again soon and go months with nothing inspiring to say!! But seriously, feel sorry for me and tell all your friends to look me up and follow me, will ya???

Now onto the meat of my post!! Fall break is drawing to a close, boo hoo! I am very sad, yes indeed! I believe this is the first break in a very long time where we have not made big plans or traveled far and wide. We have had a mellow, low key kinda break! It's been nice I shall say. I am very thankful that we didn't travel being as a sickness broke out in our crib! It started with Carlee, then Lincoln, now Dave. Of course I am starting to feel yucky right when it's time to go back to school:( That's my luck!!

We have ventured out to the movies, shopping, numerous doctor's appointments, learning to ride bikes without training wheels, potty training, and some much needed organizing! I love being productive! I also love to organize and clean, it gives such satisfaction.

I have many thoughts circulating through my brain, but I will save that for another post...that is if you come back!

I will leave you with a few of my favorite pictures from our time off....

I am one blessed mama!!!
