Happy 4th Birthday Peyton!!

FOUR YEARS OLD! What a big boy! I have been blessed with a really precious son. It is never a dull moment with Peyton Douglas around. I enjoy listening to him. Lately our conversations are priceless. I wish I could record his little voice using such big boy words. Peyton has never been a kid who talked "baby" talk. We never talked to him like he was a baby. I believe that is why he has such a grown up vocabulary.
Let me tell you about our day: Every year our church rents out Big Surf, a cool water park here in Arizona. We decided to take just Peyton this year to celebrate him turning 4! It was a day devoted totally to him! He had such a blast. It started with the drive there. We have never seen him so excited. He told Knock Knock jokes the whole time. Of course the jokes only made sense to him, but we laughed anyway. We went down every water slide at least twice. He was so brave. He wore his life vest the whole time and didn't need our help. He really acted grown up in the water. A little too grown up for mommy:)

Kallie and Kenzie came along, which Peyton enjoyed most of the time. His cousins love him so much and love to pick him up and love on him all the time. Peyton gets a little annoyed at times!

Before we went to Big Surf we had lunch, cupcakes, and a Spiderman Pinata. Paul, Katie, and the girls came over. It was hilarious watching them do the pinata. We couldn't find anything to hang it on so daddy had to stand in a chair and hold it. Fortunately daddy walked away without a scratch!!

We had Spiderman cupcakes. For some reason Peyton, who is a natural performer, gets shy when everyone focuses on just him.

He loved all his presents!

Thanks Granny and Aunt Bibby...I love my Buzz Lightyear action set:)

Carlee had a good time helping brother open presents!

These are from Friday night. We went to Aunt Katie and Uncle Paul's for dinner. Afterwards we let the kids play in the back yard. Carlee discovered riding the quad all by herself. She can actually reach the pedals all by herself.

Peyton and Kallie enjoyed the pool.

Kenzie is all about Carlee! She's like her little mommy. They rode around the yard for a long time together.

This was taken at school on Thursday. I took Peyton's class cupcakes and little treat bags. He was excited to share his birthday with his friends.

Wow. Four already. Amazing how time flies. It looks like you had a lot of fun for Peyton's birthday.

Hope and Brady enjoyed looking at his birthday pictures.

I was just asking Brady if he remembers playing with Peyton outside when we lived in Portland. "I don't know." He replied. I explained how Peyton was his first friend when he was little. He thought for a moment, "It looks like he is still my friend."
Then he asked where you live. Arizona.
"Where is Arizona?"
"On the mainland."
Then he wanted to know why we didn't visit you on our recent trip to the mainland! I guess we need to visit you next time! :)

Sounds like Peyton had a great day. Wish we could have been there to share his day. Our conversation with him on the phone will have to do for now. Yes, Peyton Douglas is a very special little boy. His name in its self is special!!! So glad you and Dave chose to name him after your Dad. He would have been so proud of him, and loved that he looks exactly like you:)

Now, for Carlee on the quad!!!! I know she had a blast---but, she is getting way too big!! Where did my baby Carlee go???? She may look exactly like her Dad---but I think she is going to be a tomboy like her Mom was:)

So glad you and Dave are such great parents to Peyton and Carlee, giving them so much love and attention. Very proud of you !!!!
