Part 3 of Peyton's Kindergarten

So today I pick up Peyton. He comes running to the car! He jumps in and shouts, "Mommy I did it!! I came when they called my name and then I saw our car!!" He was so proud, and so was I that he was not lost:)

I proceed to ask about his day. He now has multiple friends. This is great since the first day of school he tells me that he isn't going to make new friends and he misses his Preschool friends! I am glad that Cameron, Nathan, Daniel, and Javani(sp?) are now his friends, oh and of course Callahan!! Well, then he tells me that he got embarrassed today. I asked him why and this is how he explained it: "Well, I bent over and my shirt came up, and those girls started laughing at me" I said, "Why were they laughing at you?" He says, "I dunno" I said, "Well Peyton, why didn't you make a silly face at them?" He says, "Ugh, NO! That means I like them! And I don't like girls!" I said, "Well, you can be friends with them" He says, "I can't have 'girl' friends at Kindergarten, only at Preschool!!!" I told him he was being silly. While we were talking he was playing with a toy dinosaur...He then says, "I will just take my dragon and scare them......RRRRRRRRRR"!!!!

The End

Part 2 of Peyton's first days of Kindergarten!

Okay, so day two and three were much better! Thank you to all who were so concerned! I was able to pick him up at the door the following day without any problems. They even smiled real big when I told them who I was picking up. The lady said, "Oh yes, we know where Peyton is". I said (under my breath), you're darn right! Today it was hard dropping him off. I am sick and he was sad for me to go! It was torture watching him just stand and watch me and Carlee walk away! Maybe I need to stay in the car and just pull up and let him out! Nah, he's my baby! I will walk him in until he is too embarrassed (maybe high school:)

So, some of the stories I have been told by Peyton about his first week go like this:
Mommy: "Peyton, how was school today?" Peyton: "Fine" Okay, stop right there! I expected for him not to shut up about how fun it was, how he made new friends, etc..... and all I got was fine!
Well, it got better! As the night went on, he started to freely offer details about his day. He told me that boys and girls kiss. Hmm, okay I said! Then I asked him how he knew that, and I quote, "I'm a professional, Mom"!!!!!!!!!! I quickly asked if he was a professional at kissing, he gave me this look that I was crazy and responded, "No, I just know things!"
WOW~ this is what public school education is like!
The next day I get this: "Mom, what's that noise you make when you see hot chicks?" I said, WHAT!?!?!?! He answers himself; "I know, and then whistles" First of all, who is my child hangin out with in Kindergarten, a mini Hugh Hefner! And for days now he has been telling me that I am HOT! Okay, so maybe I am a little flattered, but creeped out at the same time!

I have this week off, then Carlee and I start school on the 10th. I am glad that she and I have some time together! Today we decided to drive through Dunkin Donuts and grab some breakfast, shh....don't tell Peyton! We have been playing babies, having tea parties, and playing Play doh! She is a lot of fun and rather quiet when Peyton is not around! Who knows what the rest of the week holds for me and Miss Carlee Jane Carpenter!! Stay tuned!!!

In other news, now that Dave has his dream job.....I am seeing a whole new side to him. Before, he never let things get to him...just let things roll off his back! Always hated that he could be like that! Anyway, he is stressed in a way that I have never seen before! He says it's a good stress, but whatever! I am so thankful for this job! I am glad he now get's to do something he loves, teaching and coaching! Open gym starts tomoroow....looks like I might not see him so much for awhile!

First Day of Kindergarten Part 1

This is the first picture I took of the day! Yes, he is eating Cheezits for breakfast! You know they tell you to make sure they get a good night sleep (Check) and to eat a healthy breakfast (Check....according to Peyton's standards!) Cheese is healthy right?!?!?!?!

Here he is sporting all new EVERYTHING!

His favorite would be his brand new Mario lunch box that Granny bought for him!

He wanted a shot of his backpack too!

This is my favorite picture! He looks so big:(

Once again with a shot of his lunch box!

Okay, so here's the story with Carlee Jane! She felt a little left out so she asked me if she could carry her pack pack (her word for backpack) too! At the time, she had put her baby (her new word for her bb...or taggie blanket to those who don't know Carlee language)!

At this point, Peyton was done with the photo shoot! Carlee was still cheesing away!!!

It has been so hot here lately! You can kinda see on his face! We have to drop them off on the playground so that it is easier for the kids!

At least the mommies got to hang out for a bit until they walked in to the building!

He quickly ventured out to play!

There he is lined up with his class! He did so good standing in line! That's a first good step, right???

It took them at least 15 minutes to get all the Kindergarten classes lined up properly:) And yes, there were a few that cried and one that was quickly labeled "a runner". The principal stepped right in and took the "runner" and now we can add the name "kicker" to the list!! Meanwhile, my precious Peyton is still standing in line!!

At the time I didn't know this, but when he walked by me, he said in his best whiny voice, "UGH, Mom, my backpack is too itchy!!" Notice that he is carrying his lunchbox, well...I had it in his backpack, but he informed me that it was too heavy on his back! So, we took it out! Amazing that it made his backpack too heavy....it was the only thing in there:)

Well, I made it! I came back home with Carlee and we have been eating snacks ever since!!!!! Maybe coming back home was not a good idea:)

Peyton's going to Kindergarten!!!!!!

Peyton Douglas Carpenter will heading off to Kindergarten in 3 days! Oh Man! Where did the time go???? I know he is ready and will do fine! It's me I am worried about:( I hope that I am brave:) I am excited for Peyton to start this new chapter in his life! I am proud of the creative and talented boy he has become! I pray for him to continue to grow. I also pray for poor Mrs. King( his teacher)! In Peyton's words......May the force be with you!

This is what Carlee thinks about it!

July 4th and More

The kids had a blast with their cousins at the Splash Pad today! We were the only ones there so that was nice!

We had a small BBQ with family on the 4th! It was just way too hot to take the kids out to see any fireworks this year!
